Terms & Conditions


Prices in this catalogue do not include any federal or provincial taxes. These taxes will be added to your invoice at the appropriate rate. All items in this catalogue are subject to GST or HST, and PST in Quebec. If your institution is exempt from GST, you must submit an exemption certificate with your order. Taxes will be charged at the following rates:

Ontario, Newfoundland, New Brunswick: 13% HST
British Columbia: 12% HST
Nova Scotia: 15% HST
Quebec: 5% GST and 9.975% PST
Other customers: 5% GST

Our terms are NET 30 Days. Credit is extended to approved accounts. Overdue accounts will be charged 1.5% per month (18% per annum) on amounts past due. Personal orders must be prepaid. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD and personal cheques. Please include your credit card number or a cheque for the total of your order, including shipping and applicable taxes.

We pride ourselves on complete, on-time delivery. If there are items backordered on your shipment for more than 3 weeks, we will pay the freight charges on that backorder as far as each provincial forwarding point. We reserve the right to cancel backorders, especially when we are unsure of an item’s timely arrival from the manufacturer.

At LKG, we strive to provide you with the best service in our industry. To that end, we offer a 100% QUALITY GUARANTEE on ALL products in this catalogue for at least 1-year after purchase. Many products, such as LKG Furniture, have multi-year warranties—please see individual product descriptions for details. To assist you in ordering, we make sure to give you complete information about every product we sell. Product dimensions and detailed descriptions are provided for all items in the catalogue. If you need additional information, our Customer Service Department is available with complete product specs. You can order from Louise Kool and Galt with confidence. We pre-select only the very best offerings available in the marketplace. In addition, we always investigate product returns thoroughly; if a product is not up to snuff, we discontinue the product immediately. You can count on us to protect your interests and deliver only top quality goods! We do know, however, that you may occasionally receive a product that does not meet your needs. In that event, we are pleased to accept a return on ANY product from our current catalogue within 30 days of receipt. Just call our Customer Service Department to obtain a Return Authorization Number and mail the item back to us. In some cases, for example items ordered in error, you will be responsible for a restocking fee.

Shipping Charges
Within Toronto, Durham, Peel and York, all orders will be charged 11% of the product total for freight. Orders to all other destinations will be billed at 14%. For orders less than $300, a $15 Shipping & Handling charge will be added to your invoice. All orders under $100 will be quoted freight and handling charges before shipping.

For orders over $3,000 please call our customer service department for a freight quote, which may be less than our advertised rate.

Freight carriers deliver only to the front or back door of your institution. If you require goods delivered to a classroom, or if your destination is difficult to access, such as on the second floor, please notify Customer Service at the time you place the order. There may be a small surcharge levied by the carrier, particularly if the shipment contains furniture or equipment. We will be glad to provide a quote for your approval.

All freight charges beyond Provincial forwarding points are the responsibility of the customer. Please call for a freight quote.

From time to time, we may ship an item directly from the manufacturer. Freight will be billed at the normal rate in this event.

When gas prices rise some carriers levee a “gas surcharge”. We reserve the right to add this cost to your invoice, but will only do so if it is absolutely necessary.

Damages & Shortages
Shortages will be corrected immediately upon your telephone call. Please notify us AS SOON AS your parcel arrives. Unfortunately, occasional damage of goods in transit is a fact of life, especially on larger items. We make every effort to safeguard your goods during shipping, but please inspect parcels carefully when they arrive. If you receive a box that appears damaged in any way, please write POSSIBLE HIDDEN DAMAGE on the freight bill before signing. When reporting shortages or damage, please provide us with your customer and order numbers. You will find these numbers printed on your packing slip.

Warranties are offered on many items, particularly furniture, in this catalogue. Typically, we will issue a proportional credit for warranty claims. For instance, if a product with a ten-year warranty fails after 6 years, we will issue you credit in the amount of 40% of the original purchase price toward purchase of a replacement item. Credit for Lifetime Warranties are calculated the same as a 10 year warranty, but 10% credit is maintained for the life of the product. Our warranties cover structural damage under normal use. With all warranty claims we reserve the right to have the item repaired. Warranties do not cover damage to the finish of the item, so please follow all instructions regarding cleaning and care of your product. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims, so please retain your receipt.
